The Land Cruiser’s powertrain is both powerful and refined, with 381-horsepower, the 5.7-liter V-8 engine produces 401 pounds-feet of torque and paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Although it lacks the sophistication of a more modern design with single or twin turbos, the powertrain has impressive performance and is responsive and capable. There’s plenty of acceleration from a stop or when passing, as well as plenty of grunt for towing or off-roading.
